This year A Taste of Edmonds takes on the flavor of a Carnival, with the festival’s seagull logo sporting a jester’s hat in the three official colors of Mardi Gras, violet, gold and green. Taking place Friday through Sunday, August 8 to 10, this party sports many similarities with the famous annual event in New Orleans.
Mardi Gras is about community coming together and so is A Taste of Edmonds. Both are annual traditions. Both offer the opportunity to wear frightful color combinations in public, feather boas or beads and look right in fashion. Both offer great food. New Orleans has paddleboats and Edmonds has the Ferry. And above all there is music, vital, rhythmic, keeping the beat to the good times that the crowd is collectively experiencing. It is no wonder that A Taste of Edmonds committee choose Mardi Gras as their theme.
Mardi Gras' slogan is "Let the good times roll," which is translated literally into French as Laissez les bons temps rouler. This slogan also epitomizes the spirit of A Taste of Edmonds!
The Edmonds Chamber of Commerce produces the Taste of Edmonds annually.
